These ways are the most common ways to gain money from crypto coins. But not every one can have the patience for holding the coins for a long time. Some people prefer to trade coins because they are afraid to hold coins for a long time. But I think it is no problem to trade if we have proper knowledge. OP only suggests some ways, but we may have other options. I honestly can't do investing only, I need to do trading as well.
